1. Who we are and these terms
The website ethicapraxis.com and the Ethicapraxis courses are provided by Ethicapraxis, an independent online education provider ("we", "us"). Company name and registered address: [to be inserted]. You can contact us at support@ethicapraxis.com or through our contact page.
By creating an account, buying a course or using the website, you agree to these terms, the terms and refund policy of your country edition and our privacy policy. Country editions: Brasil, France, Italia, Deutschland. If you do not agree, please do not use the website or courses.
2. What we provide
We provide online, self-paced educational courses on ethics, professionalism and related topics for health professionals, in separate editions for Brazil, France, Italy and Germany. Each course includes lessons, a final assessment with a pass mark of 80%, a certificate of completion and a reflective account template.
Course content is written from official sources and checked at the date stated in the course. Laws and codes change; we review courses when they do, but we cannot guarantee that every course reflects every change on the day it happens.
3. Education only: no advice, approval or guaranteed outcome
- Independent provider. We are not affiliated with, accredited by, approved by or endorsed by any ministry, professional council, order, chamber, continuing-education body or professional association.
- No credits or points. Our courses do not award continuing-education credits, points or hours recognised by any authority. We issue a certificate of completion stating the hours of study. Whether a course can be recorded towards your own training obligations is decided by the competent body, not by us.
- Not legal or professional advice. Courses are general education. For advice on your own position, speak to a lawyer, your insurer or your professional association.
- No outcome guarantee. Completing a course does not guarantee any outcome in a complaint, disciplinary procedure, renewal or employment process.
- Orders and conditions. If an authority or tribunal has required you to complete specific training, it is your responsibility to confirm that a course meets the terms of that requirement before you buy it.
4. Your account
- You must give accurate information, including your real name, because it appears on your certificate.
- Your account is personal to you. Do not share your login or let someone else take a course or assessment for you. Certificates issued in breach of this rule are invalid and may be withdrawn.
- Keep your password secure and tell us promptly if you think your account was used without permission.
- One account can hold courses from any country edition.
5. Buying a course
Prices are shown in reais (Brazil) or euros (France, Italy, Germany) and are charged at checkout by card through Stripe. Taxes that apply are shown at checkout. Current prices: Brazil R$ 97, R$ 147 or R$ 197 for 1, 2 or 3 hours; France 69 € or 99 € for 2 or 3 hours; Italy 39 €, 59 € or 89 € for 1, 2 or 3 hours; Germany 59 €, 89 € or 129 € for 1, 2 or 3 hours. We may change prices at any time, but changes do not affect confirmed orders.
A contract is formed when we confirm your order by email. Access is given immediately after payment.
6. Withdrawal and refunds
France, Italy and Germany. As a consumer you have a 14-day right of withdrawal from a distance contract. For digital content supplied immediately, this right is lost if you expressly agree to immediate access and acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal once the content is supplied (Directive 2011/83/EU, article 16(m)). As a matter of our own policy, we refund within 14 days of purchase if you have completed less than 20% of the course and no certificate has been issued.
Brazil. For purchases made online you have the right of arrependimento within 7 days of purchase (Código de Defesa do Consumidor, art. 49). As a courtesy, we also refund up to 14 days after purchase if you have completed less than 20% of the course and no certificate has been issued.
Full details are on the refund page of your edition: Brasil, France, Italia, Deutschland.
7. Access to courses
Courses are self-paced. You may access each course you buy for as long as it remains available on the website, and we will give reasonable notice before withdrawing a course you have bought but not finished. Your certificate and reflective account can be downloaded once issued; we recommend that you keep your own copies.
8. Assessments and certificates
To receive a certificate you must complete the course and pass the final assessment at a pass mark of 80%. Assessments have 10 questions for a 1-hour course, 15 for a 2-hour course and 20 for a 3-hour course. If you do not pass, you can review the course and retake the assessment.
A certificate confirms that the named person completed the course and the assessment, with the hours of study shown on it. It is not a licence, a qualification or a credit awarded by any authority.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- copy, share, resell, publish or distribute course content, assessment questions or answers;
- use automated tools to access, scrape or complete courses or assessments;
- try to bypass security, payment or access controls, or interfere with the website;
- enter patient names or other information that identifies patients or third parties in reflections or messages.
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these rules.
10. Intellectual property
All course content, text, questions, graphics, templates and the Ethicapraxis name and branding belong to us or our licensors. When you buy a course we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it for your own learning. Your completed reflective account belongs to you.
11. Our responsibility to you
We will provide courses with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be excluded. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for decisions made by any authority, tribunal, employer or other third party, or for how you apply course content in practice.
12. Changes, governing law and disputes
We may update these terms, for example to reflect new editions, legal changes or changes to how courses work. The updated version is posted on this page with a new date and does not apply to confirmed orders, except where the law requires.
The governing law and the competent courts for your purchase are set out in the terms of your country edition, without limiting any mandatory consumer rights you have in your country of residence. Operator's governing law and place of jurisdiction: [to be confirmed]. If you have a concern, please contact us first so that we can try to resolve it.
